Black History Month
Our Global Ambassadors, and the whole of Giraffes Class did an incredible job of planning and delivering our Black History Month event. Our current topic, Maafa has made us passionate about black rights and equality and this drove our vision for our celebrations. We had 3 teams and they planned differentiated learning for Bears, Tigers and Leopards. Sports Team This team celebrated black sports people, including Marcus Rashford, Pele, Nicola Adams and Jesse Owens. Arts Team The Arts Team celebrated black people in the arts. They taught the children about Sade Abu, Floella Benjamin, and Yolanda Brown and created a playlist that children enjoyed working and dancing along to. Historical Figures Team Our Historical Figures Team used some much-loved origami techniques to support their teaching of important black historical figures.
