We are artists: Inuit-style prints

We have been exploring Inuit art and have been finding out about The enchanted owl, a famous print, which was made into a stamp. We have experimented with designs in thumbnail drawings of animals and today, we had a go at printing.  It was messy, but fun and we got some great effects.

We are actors: Artist in Residency

  This half term, we are delighted  to have been selected to work alongside Buxton Opera house and be joined by one of their own to complete the ‘Artist in Residency’ program.  The children are  loving exploring drama games and developing their acting skills.

We are writers: Figurative phrases

 Giraffes are getting immersed into their new book, The Last Bear, which is set in the Arctic.  Thinking about the sea, the fog, the wind, the mountains and the cold, we generated figurative phrases to describe the atmosphere. 

We are composers: Arctic soundscapes

Linking with our study of the Arctic, we explored sounds of the polar regions and put them together into an Arctic soundscape.
