Monday 30th March

Good morning my gorgeous giraffes! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and you are all ready to go for week 2. Your week 2 continuation of learning plans are in your Google Drive folders so let me know if you  need a reminder of your log in.
Well done to Emily who has been working hard at up levelling a piece of writing and watch this space to see that later. Also well done to the Leopards for beating us on TT Rockstars, although it was close.

      Hi Miss B
      I've logged on this morning and my work for this week hasn't been updated. Its the same as last week. I also don't understand what I need to do for English.
      I'm just doing my topic and reading an encyclopedia to learn about rainforests then I'm going to do a poster.

Welcome to Whitehall

 After arriving at the centre, we dropped off the bags and the bus drove us down to the reservoir. Using our map reading skills we had a lovely walk back to Whitehall. Enjoying a welcome snack break, we listened and watched out for curlews, skylarks, blackbirds, buzzards and crickets.  We spotted many wild flowers too.

Adventurous activity 1: Let's try abseiling

For our first activity, we headed back towards Taddington and the Monsal Trail at Millers Dale - familiar territory for us. We exchanged tales of walking, cycling and pony rides down the trail.  None of us have abseiled before, so we're not quite sure what to expect. We listened carefully before getting our harnesses on.  The instructor checked we were all safely buckled up and ready to go. Hmm...some slightly worried looks.  Here we go. Who's brave enough to go first? The bridge over the River Wye is 80 feet high and the first challenge is to climb over the railings.  We did it!  Now we can relax.
