Wednesday 29th April

Morning you gorgeous lot,  not quite such a nice morning today but my garden did really need some rain and we have been very lucky with the weather so far. 

How is everyone getting on with this weeks work? I've seen Lynda's grammar and a photo of Aidan and Dylan doing some Maths but how about everyone else? 

Have you decided what essentials you need for a desert island yet? 
I would have to have a book or two I think, you know I don't go anywhere without one!

    We had a barbecue twice and it was great. We had sausages and burgers, It was delicious!!

Welcome to Whitehall

 After arriving at the centre, we dropped off the bags and the bus drove us down to the reservoir. Using our map reading skills we had a lovely walk back to Whitehall. Enjoying a welcome snack break, we listened and watched out for curlews, skylarks, blackbirds, buzzards and crickets.  We spotted many wild flowers too.

Adventurous activity 1: Let's try abseiling

For our first activity, we headed back towards Taddington and the Monsal Trail at Millers Dale - familiar territory for us. We exchanged tales of walking, cycling and pony rides down the trail.  None of us have abseiled before, so we're not quite sure what to expect. We listened carefully before getting our harnesses on.  The instructor checked we were all safely buckled up and ready to go. Hmm...some slightly worried looks.  Here we go. Who's brave enough to go first? The bridge over the River Wye is 80 feet high and the first challenge is to climb over the railings.  We did it!  Now we can relax.
