Morning my gorgeous giraffes, how is everyone? 

Today I would love to get photos of you with a cake or a treat so I can put them together for Feel Fantastic Friday. Thanks to Maisie for her photo, I know some of you have said you miss it so I am going to make us a little video so we feel like we are all together again. 

I would also love to hear how you are getting on on Read Theory, which level you are up to and what you have been reading about. Let me know in the comments, there may be some brownie points and raffle tickets in it. 

I will be on TT Rockstars at 10am as usual, hope to see you there practising your world record attempts.

    I'm reading about the prime minister's speech on read theory, and it says that people actually write the speeches for them! I read about where chocolate come from, and learnt some facts about Mary Angelou. I'm doing lots of writing today as my mum set
    me some work for me to do. Im doing My maths now, bye everyone!

Welcome to Whitehall

 After arriving at the centre, we dropped off the bags and the bus drove us down to the reservoir. Using our map reading skills we had a lovely walk back to Whitehall. Enjoying a welcome snack break, we listened and watched out for curlews, skylarks, blackbirds, buzzards and crickets.  We spotted many wild flowers too.

Adventurous activity 1: Let's try abseiling

For our first activity, we headed back towards Taddington and the Monsal Trail at Millers Dale - familiar territory for us. We exchanged tales of walking, cycling and pony rides down the trail.  None of us have abseiled before, so we're not quite sure what to expect. We listened carefully before getting our harnesses on.  The instructor checked we were all safely buckled up and ready to go. Hmm...some slightly worried looks.  Here we go. Who's brave enough to go first? The bridge over the River Wye is 80 feet high and the first challenge is to climb over the railings.  We did it!  Now we can relax.
