Thursday 18th June

Good morning lovelies, hope everyone is ok. 
Yesterday we had a lovely 6 mile walk from school down to Monsal Dale and the river. 

We studied some features of the river and talked about erosion and how rivers meander through the land.

    That looks really fun. Good to know you had a lovely time. I can't do my work as I don't understand, but Lizzie is gonna help me soon. The country side looks really nice on your walk, I'm glad the weather wasn't thundering! Bye

      I went on a walk to a river, but the river had all dried up. I'm good thank you. I love ducklings, they are so cute! I couldn't do my work so I did some other maths instead, and I got most of them right! Speak soon? Bye

Team swing

 Having spent the morning underground, we avoided the worst of the weather and most of the group were reasonably dry as we headed back to the centre.  After lunch we were lucky that the rain wasn't too heavy and we go t kitted out for the team swing. We had seen this in action yesterday, so we had a good idea what to expect.  Some of us were excited by this; others, not so much! Teamwork We needed the trolley to get the 2 people into position. Everyone had to pull the rope to hoist up the swing.  We were really good at this, so we had time for 2 goes each.  After 2 goes, out came the trolley again to swap over to the next pair. Here we are before and during our swing. Zooming in on the action... I think you could say there was a mixed reaction! Everyone pushed themselves to their limit ... and then a bit more.  A great activity.

Night walk

After tea, we finished making our beds and got ready for our final activity: the night walk.  We had a stop near Dethick Church. Finding out about the history of this ancient building.  Spotting wild flowers. Which way do we need to go?  Weve done it! One action- packed day complete.  We've walked 17000 steps today. Hopefully, this means we will all sleep well tonight...

High ropes

 After lunch we got harnesses and helmets on, ready for the high ropes. Some of the children were really looking forward to this activity; others were not! We were in four teams of four and we had to work together to make sure our climbing team-mate was safe.
