Wednesday 24th June

Happy Wednesday my lovely giraffes, hope you are all well.

What a gorgeous few days we have been having and it is set to continue a little longer, fingers crossed. 

We have been enjoying playing in the woods and on the field and spent some time yesterday blowing bubbles which was fun.

Hope you are all having fun and managing to carry on with your learning, please send us photos or videos of what you have been up to, we miss you.

    Today Me, Charlie, Mum, Sally and Pepper are going down to the river because it is really warm.

Welcome to Whitehall

 After arriving at the centre, we dropped off the bags and the bus drove us down to the reservoir. Using our map reading skills we had a lovely walk back to Whitehall. Enjoying a welcome snack break, we listened and watched out for curlews, skylarks, blackbirds, buzzards and crickets.  We spotted many wild flowers too.

Adventurous activity 1: Let's try abseiling

For our first activity, we headed back towards Taddington and the Monsal Trail at Millers Dale - familiar territory for us. We exchanged tales of walking, cycling and pony rides down the trail.  None of us have abseiled before, so we're not quite sure what to expect. We listened carefully before getting our harnesses on.  The instructor checked we were all safely buckled up and ready to go. Hmm...some slightly worried looks.  Here we go. Who's brave enough to go first? The bridge over the River Wye is 80 feet high and the first challenge is to climb over the railings.  We did it!  Now we can relax.
