Tints, tones and shades
We began our Art project, by exploring mixing tints, shades and tones. We reviewed each others work to evaluate how successfully we had mixed the colours.
Following on from this, we looked at colour in landscapes, discussing where we thought the artist had used tints, tones or shades. We chose a landscape to study in more detail. We worked hard to carefully mix and record the colours - not an easy task.
We then discussed vocabulary and added annotations to describe each colour and the overall effects of the use of colour in the painting.
